Mazda’s New Premacy Hydrogen Hybrid Rotary Engine Car Premiers
Sierra Mazda of Southern California is happy to say that Mazda’s newest hydrogen rotary engine will take to public roads in Japan for testing sometime in the remaining year. Mazda states that the new Mazda car is the world’s first hydrogen hybrid car with a dual-fuel system, enabling the use of either hydrogen or gasoline. A large step in the evolution of low-carbon Mazda cars and cars in general.
The Japanese government has given Mazda Motor Corporation full permission to test the Mazda Premacy Hydrogen RE Hybrid minivan on public roads around Japan. The next step for the new Mazda engine will be commercial leasing in Japan during this fiscal year or next year. After that, shipping Mazda Hybrids to Southern California and the world.

The Mazda engine’s hybrid system increases power by 40 percent, and is stated to increase hydrogen fuel range to 200 kilometers, (135 miles). All of this is made possible with the addition of an electric motor to enhance performance.

Mazda showed off the Premacy Hydrogen RE Hybrid alongside the RX-8 Hydrogen RE at the G8 Hoddaido Toyako Summit sometime midsummer and received a warm reception from Mazda fans and other attendees.

Materials derived from plants used for some of the vehicle’s interior plastic parts and plant-derived seat covers are also featured in the new Mazda car, a part of what Mazda calls its Sustainable Zoom-Zoom environmental plan. We call it smart, way smart.
